JOB PURPOSE:  This position is responsible for providing direct and indirect behavioral intervention and consultation to consumers, family, and other stakeholders.  This position is responsible for guiding treatment by developing a treatment plan, monitoring progress on goals, intervening directly with a consumer, and developing programs, as appropriate.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS AND FUNCTIONS:

 

Leads and directs individualized treatment

By adhering to applicable county, state and federal standard regulations when developing an individualized treatment plan, individual service plan, and/or treatment goals for consumers; programming and data analysis in order to monitor consumer progress

 

Provides treatment of the whole person

By providing service and supervision in collaboration with all team members involved with the consumer, and with the understanding that treatment of the whole person is crucial

 

Consults with all members of the treatment team to ensure plan participation

By training and consulting with all members of the treatment team to ensure full understanding of purpose objectives, methods, and documentation of the treatment plan, behavioral support plan and/or individual service plan.

 

Monitors individualized consumer-drive data to address consumer needs

By completing on-going analysis and evaluation of efficacy of behavioral treatment goals to address consumer’s current need and adjust plans, as necessary, and regularly communicate updates to required members of the treatment team

 

Supervises response to emergency/crisis situations with team members and consumers

By committing to ensuring the safety of the consumer, and the proper utilization of de-escalation skills, when needed

 

Participates in required meetings, evaluations, supervision and trainings

By collaborating with all members of the treatment team and participating, when necessary, in all required meetings, assessments, evaluations, trainings and supervision, per agreement with supervisor

 

Completes all required clinical documentation

By completing all required documentation related to provision of treatment, as outlined in program requirements and provider policy 

 

Maintains assigned, planned schedule

By following program guidelines to ensure regular service provision and maintenance of caseload, per agreement with program supervisor

 

Maintains a commitment to professional development

By participating in on-going supervision, training, and department and team meetings, as outlined by policies and procedures

 

Adheres to professional and ethical interaction policies and procedures

By interacting professionally, ethically, and respectfully with consumers, other team members – including family members, and co-workers, at all times; following policy and procedure and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries

 

Supports on-going and future business needs

By completing other duties, as assigned, to effectively support business priorities and processes      

 

IMPACT OF RESULTS:

Directly interacts with consumers and impacts overall wellness and mental health based on effectiveness of implemented clinical modalities; directly impacts the customer service experience and continued business relationship of those parties.

                

II. JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

 

EDUCATION  

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education, or similar human services field

 

EXPERIENCE

At least 1 year of experience in either a CASSP service system or employed by a licensed mental health services agency or subcontracted agency.  Or completed training in conducting and using a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA), and in positive behavioral support.  Training must be provided by the Bureau of Autism Services, or an accredited college or university.  For IDD cases, application must have at least 2 years of experience working with IDD consumers.

 

COMPETENCIES

Must be proficient in use of electronic health record system; must be proficient in completion of psychosocial assessments; must be able to make sound decisions to support consumers in a calm and timely manner; must be able to utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities based upon consumer needs, and react quickly to prevent consumer injury or injury to another due to consumer behavior

 

III.    PROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENT

           

WORK LOCATION

Home, school, community setting, or outpatient clinic – as outlined in individual consumer treatment plan

 

TRAVEL

Up to 100% of travel between appointment sites or other locations – as outlined in program requirements

 May be required to occasionally move about inside a home, school, community, clinic, or program office environment to provide services to consumers, support employees and team members, or access office resources and machinery

 May be required to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e.: iPad, copier, printer)

 May be required to occasionally ascend/descend stairs to provide services to consumers, support employees and team members, or access office resources and machinery

 May be required to position self in appropriate physical proximity to provide services to consumer, support employees and team members, or access office resources and machinery

 May be required to frequently communicate with consumers, employees and team members, or external sources in a way that support’s the company mission and enhances delivery and quality of services

 May be required to recognize and determine data and information pertinent to essential job functions

 May be required to frequently transport resources and materials required to provide quality services

 May be exposed to a variety of work settings, including home, school, community, clinic, and program office environments

 

CONTROLS

This position reports to the Clinical Supervisor and is accountable to licensing guidelines.  This position is held accountable by regular audits completed by the Clinical Supervisor, and the Quality Management and Human Resources departments.
