JOB PURPOSE:  This position is responsible for providing one-on-one or small group interventions to consumers in the home, school, or community setting when, without treatment, behaviors may require a more restrictive setting.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS AND FUNCTIONS:

 

Provides assistance in implementation a behavioral intervention plan

By providing interventions to assist the consumer in developing age-appropriate daily living skills and social and cultural interaction skills with his or her peer group, family, and other social groups or setting; by providing assistance in implementing alternative activities to redirect challenging behaviors

 

Provides assistance to parents or other responsible adults

By providing support in their efforts to provide direct supervision of the consumer; by providing assistance in providing therapeutic structure and limits for the consumer

 

Demonstrates understanding in appropriate implementation of evidence-based assessments

By modeling evidence based behavioral strategies for others that support the consumer to encourage consistent and generalization across all settings

 

Demonstrates a strong knowledge of research and evidence-based practices

By utilizing research-based strategies and information to design programming from assessments, and to develop necessary interventions to improve independence and success

 

Utilizes relevant data to identify effective treatment interventions

By demonstrating the ability to collect relevant data to illustrate key behavioral points; by analyzing data to determine areas of progress/regression and to identify future intervention needs

 

Provides treatment of the whole person

By providing service and supervision in collaboration with all team members involved with the consumer, and with the understanding that treatment of the whole person is crucial

 

Supervises response to emergency/crisis situations with team members and consumers

By committing to ensuring the safety of the consumer, and the proper utilization of de-escalation skills, when needed

 

Participates in required meetings, evaluations, supervision and trainings

By collaborating with all members of the treatment team and participating, when necessary, in all required meetings, assessments, evaluations, trainings and supervision, per agreement with supervisor

 

Completes all required clinical documentation

By completing all required documentation related to provision of treatment, as outlined in program requirements and provider policy 

 

Maintains assigned, planned schedule

By following program guidelines to ensure regular service provision and maintenance of caseload, per agreement with program supervisor

 

Maintains a commitment to professional development

By participating in on-going supervision, training, and department and team meetings, as outlined by policies and procedures

 

Adheres to professional and ethical interaction policies and procedures

By interacting professionally, ethically, and respectfully with consumers, other team members – including family members, and co-workers, at all times; following policy and procedure and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries

 

Supports on-going and future business needs

By completing other duties, as assigned, to effectively support business priorities and processes      

 

IMPACT OF RESULTS:

Directly interacts with consumers and impacts overall wellness and mental health based on effectiveness of implemented clinical modalities; directly impacts the customer service experience and continued business relationship of those parties.

                

II.  JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

 

EDUCATION  

Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education, or similar human services field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE

At least 1 year of experience in the field of Applied Behavioral Analysis preferred.

 

COMPETENCIES

Must be proficient in use of electronic health record system; must be proficient in completion of psychosocial assessments; must be able to make sound decisions to support consumers in a calm and timely manner; must be able to utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities based upon consumer needs, and react quickly to prevent consumer injury or injury to another due to consumer behavior

WORK LOCATION

Home, school, or community setting – as outlined in individual consumer treatment plan

 

TRAVEL

Up to 100% of travel between appointment sites or other locations – as outlined in program requirements

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 May be required to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time

 May be required to occasionally move about inside a home, school, community, clinic, or program office environment to provide services to consumers, support employees and team members, or access office resources and machinery

 May be required to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (i.e.: iPad, copier, printer)

 May be required to occasionally ascend/descend stairs to provide services to consumers, support employees and team members, or access office resources and machinery

 May be required to position self in appropriate physical proximity to provide services to consumer, support employees and team members, or access office resources and machinery

 May be required to frequently communicate with consumers, employees and team members, or external sources in a way that support’s the company mission and enhances delivery and quality of services

 May be required to recognize and determine data and information pertinent to essential job functions

 May be required to frequently transport resources and materials required to provide quality services

 May be exposed to a variety of work settings, including home, school, community, clinic, and program office environments

 

CONTROLS

This position reports to the Behavior Consultant and is accountable to licensing guidelines.  This position is held accountable by regular audits completed by Clinical Director, Clinical Supervisor, and the Quality Management and Human Resources departments.
