Community Support Specialist

The Community Support Specialist is responsible for providing support and one-on-one interventions to Adult Autism Waiver consumers. This position is responsible for working with adults on acquiring, developing, and increasing social engagement and independent living skills, and increased interaction in the community and home settings. This position works to reduce problem behaviors that impede functioning.  Community Support Services may be provided in the consumer's home or the community setting.  This position may require travel between consumers and consumer transportation - travel compensation is provided.


Position details:  This is a part-time position; 24 hours a week. This position will provide services in the Lancaster/Lebanon, PA area.  This position requires travel and consumer transportation in the employee’s personal vehicle.


Job responsibilities of the Community Support Specialist:

  • Implements interventions in home, school, and various community environments
  • Completes all required clinical documentation
  • Participates in assessment of needs, and objective development, as appropriate
  • Collects data related to progress on consumer objectives
  • Transports consumer to engage in community activities
  • Responds to emergency/crisis situations with team members and consumers
  • Maintains assigned, planned schedule
  • Maintains a commitment to professional development
  • Adheres to professional and ethical interaction policies and procedures
  • Supports on-going and future business needs
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license

AERI staff will be transporting consumers and are responsible for providing his/her proof of insurance face sheet that notes the Liability coverage limits of at least $100,000 bodily injury and at least $300,000 total per accident in their policy.
