At Family Behavioral Resources, we work in local schools, homes, and communities servicing children with diagnosed behavioral and mental health disorders. We also provide Outpatient Mental Health Therapy in numerous locations throughout the state of PA and in Ohio. Position details:  Per Diem or Part-Time; Tuesdays from 8:00am – 12:00pm.  Occasional additional hours for area coverage when needed.

Travel between appointment sites or other locations – Up to 100% of the time

The Registered Nurse will provide support for Psychiatrist, medical direction for outpatient program, and intensive therapeutic services for children, groups, and families. Services vary according to the needs of a child, group or family. The position may include crisis management/intervention in emergency situations.

This role will cover Franklin and Fulton counties; also travel to Mercersburg Academy.

Requirements:

  • Valid RN license
  • At least one year experience in the mental health field providing therapy and medication education for individuals, families, and groups

Duties:

The Registered Nurse will:

  • Assist consumers who have no prescription drug benefits in obtaining the recommended medication through pharmaceutical drug programs.
  • Obtain pre-authorization from insurance companies for the formulating drugs that require it and authorization for treatment.
  • Assist psychiatrist in medication monitoring. This includes taking vitals and documenting in the medical record, as well as meeting with the client on regularly scheduled basis to review their progress and obtain updates regarding their medications.
  • Interview the consumer and/or family members to obtain the necessary data that is recorded on the intake form.
  • Meet with the client, psychiatrist and possibly other treatment team members and develop an individualized treatment plan for the consumer.
  • Provide appropriate individuals, organizations and authorized family member’s information or updates regarding the consumer’s status.
  • Assist consumers in developing an appropriate discharge plan.
  • Maintain supplies of medication samples and document any distribution of them by the psychiatrist.
  • Schedule and conduct intakes and medication check appointments.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of software programs and applications.
  • Local travel requires the operation of an automobile.
