The Director of Foster Care is responsible for the initiation and ongoing development of Services.  Key functions are supervisory and administrative in nature.  This position works closely with the Licensing and Regulatory offices, Regional Directors, Senior Foster Care Consultant and Foster Care QA/QI.  Overall leadership includes the assurance of effective operation practices, and agency policy adherence. The Director of Foster Care will build exceptional community/ customer relations, and provide oversight of foster care services.


Supervisory Functions:

       Serve as Foster Care subject matter expert.  Information should be directly related to Foster Care program service definitions, regulatory requirements and agency standards

       Provide on and off site consultation to Foster Care Senior Consultants

       Facilitate team meetings and participate in program and agency operations/meetings as required

       Monitor compliance with all applicable state, local and federal regulations, professional standards, certifications and accreditations

       Keep abreast of current trends and practices and ensure verbal and written communication of these directives to management and foster care staff

       Participate in creating foster care strategies to grow and move the business forward.

       Collaborate with Regional Directors and Senior Foster Care Consultants to assist in driving growth by increasing licensed homes and meeting census goals.

       Participate in the development and presentation of foster care services.

       Participate in advocacy and community awareness events to inform persons served and interested parties

       Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time based upon the demands and requirements set forth by Access Family Services, Inc.

Administrative Functions:

       Responsible for meeting census and utilization expectations for program

       Participate in the development and execution of business plans for the development and expansion of foster care.

       Assist in staff recruitment, selection, evaluation and termination of staff as needed. 

       Work closely with Regional President, Senior Foster Care Consultant, VP of Operations, Foster Care QI/QA, Human Resources, Recruiting, Billing, IT, and other departments as necessary



Master's degree in healthcare or human services preferred. 


A preferred minimum of 5 years of job-related experience in foster care or related community-based work, working with youth and families.
